Menopause

Sandyford Services: COVID-19

We are now offering specialist menopause appointments for those women who are experiencing problems with their HRT or have complex medical problems that may make starting HRT a difficult decision. A GP referral is required prior to an appointment being arranged.

Please note we are unable to offer appointments to women resident in other health boards.

If you are in doubt as to whether you need to be seen by the sexual health service telephone 0141 211 8130. Our staff will be able to advise you.

We support women who experience menopause symptoms such as hot flushes, sweats, mood changes, headaches and joint aches.

Referral Information

You need to be referred to the menopause service by your GP. Please speak with your GP in the first instance who can refer you to us.

If you would like to get advice about which service is best for you, phone 0141 211 8130. The line is open Mondays to Fridays from 8.30am - 4.15pm, except public holidays. The Menopause service needs a GP referral.

National HRT Shortage

There is currently a national shortage of certain HRT preparations in the UK. This affects all suppliers of HRT and menopause clinics. If you're having difficulty obtaining your normal HRT preparation, please see your GP or practice nurse for alternative options.

Further information regarding specific products can be found on the British Menopause Society website.
