Services we offer
We offer a range of services. How you book depends on which service you would like – some are booked online*, some are booked over the phone, and some require a referral.

Abortion care
We provide abortion care to those up to 20 weeks pregnant wishing to end a pregnancy. You don’t need to have made a decision before talking to us.
Contraception
Contraception lowers the chances of pregnancy but some are more effective than others. We can help you pick the right contraception for you.
Testing for STIs
Testing for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) is an important part of good sexual health. Testing is quick, free and easy and available to book at all of our Sandyford locations – or you can book a home testing kit.
Young people (13-17)
Sandyford have dedicated clinics to support young people with their sexual health. You don’t need to have had sex before to make an appointment.
PrEP
Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, or PrEP, is a medication taken to prevent HIV infection. It is available for free from Sandyford and all NHS Scotland sexual health services.
Vasectomy
Vasectomy acts as a permanent method of contraception and is over 99% effective.
Menopause
Our menopause service offers specialised support to help you deal with menopause.
PEP
Post exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is a short course of medication for those that have been exposed to HIV. It can reduce your risk of becoming infected, but acting quickly is crucial.
Vaccinations
We offer some people who meet our criteria vaccination against certain sexually transmitted infections.
Adult gender service
Specialised care for anyone experiencing gender dysphoria. This can include psychological support, hormone therapy, and referrals for surgical interventions.
Young person gender service
Specialist support for anyone under 18 living in Scotland experiencing gender dysphoria (if they meet the minimum puberty requirements).
Sexual problems service
This service is for individuals of all genders and sexual orientations experiencing sexual problems such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, loss of libido, etc.

Gay and bisexual men
All Sandyford sexual health services are inclusive, supportive, non-judgmental, and sensitive to individual needs. However, Sandyford have guidance specifically tailored to gay, bisexual men and all men who have sex with men.
People who sell or exchange sex
People who sell or exchange sex may face challenges trying to access healthcare. We can provide care suited to your sexual health needs.
Users of other languages
Sandyford offers interpreting services and translated information in other languages.

What we are working towards providing in the future
Blood at-home testing for STIs: STIs that are tested by blood, such as HIV and syphilis, still require testing at clinic. NHS GGC are working on providing at-home blood tests in the future.
