Vaccinations are offered based on eligibility criteria, and not everyone will be offered every vaccine. You do not have to accept a vaccination if it is offered to you.

What vaccinations do and don’t do
What vaccinations do ✔
Vaccinations help protect you from certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and related health complications. They work by preparing your immune system to fight off specific viruses or bacteria if you’re exposed in the future. By getting vaccinated, you’re not only protecting yourself – you’re helping reduce the spread of infections within the wider community.
What they don’t do ✖
Vaccinations don’t protect against all STIs, and they don’t replace the need for safer sex practices like using condoms. They also don’t treat existing infections – they’re designed to prevent future ones. It’s important to continue regular testing for STIs and use protection, even if you’ve been vaccinated.
Vaccination eligibility
Eligibility for each vaccine is determined by factors such as your age, gender, and sexual activity. Informed consent will always be obtained before any vaccine is given. You can find out more by reading more about each vaccine below.
