Postpartum Contraception Information

Sandyford Sexual Health Service and NHSGGC Women’s and Children’s Directorate are working together as part of a Scottish Government demonstration project to improve the uptake of contraception postpartum, with an emphasis on provision of very long acting contraception (vLARC). All methods of contraception (including intrauterine and implants) should be available prior to discharge from maternity services.
