COVID-19 Update – 10th September 2021

Due to severe staff shortages, you may experience a longer than usual waiting time when phoning the service.

Physical distancing and face coverings are still required at health care settings across Scotland. Therefore restricted services are still in place including appointment only clinics, to continue to protect the public and staff.

Please be aware that we have only a small number of Coil or Implant appointments at present, if you have tried to book online and have been unable to do so, it means there are no appointments available and we will not be able to provide any via telephone either. We apologise for this inconvenience and ask that you continue to try and book this appointment online.

Please view Sandyford's full COVID-19 statement and COVID- 19 service information page which is updated regularly. You must not attend for an appointment if you have signs of COVID or have been in contact with someone in the last 14 days who has.

Sexual Health Week

This year, Sexual Health Week is taking place from 13 – 19 September. This is a week to celebrate sexual health knowledge, medicine and history.

Sandyford has evolved from its inception in 2000 as a convergence of Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services, Genitourinary Medicine and the Centre for Women’s Health into a fully integrated specialised sexual health service across the NHS GGC area. Today, Sandyford’s overall vision is that the population of GGC can enjoy good and positive sexual health.

Since March 2020, Sandyford has required to deliver its services differently. In line with government guidelines, Sandyford is minimising face-to-face work and prioritising those with the most urgent care needs. These are being delivered as appointment only services.
