Healthy Relationships

In recent consultation with young people, almost all knew, from their peers, examples of relationships that involved vulnerability or exploitation.

Young people told us that they find adults reluctant to discuss teenage sexuality and that they learn about relationships from each other and from music, film, TV etc.

Healthy relationships should be based on good friendship, free from emotional and physical harm, good communication and no pressure or control. Relationships, in the broadest sense are something children learn from you and their family and friendships throughout childhood.
